Ok so first things first
Me and Bella Christina have parted ways for the summer
I am currently back home in NY and she’s back at home in Michigan. That’s 4 months of Bella Separation!! However, we are trying to get Bella Christina to NY either for the majority of the summer or at least for my 21st birthday in Aug (yep I’m taking a page out of Mama Pea with the unashamed birthday hints) but we will see how that works out…crossing the fingers because I’m pretty sure in a couple more weeks days hours I’m going to break down in Bella separation anxiety
That was me during moveout…It might be possible that after my insanity Bella Christina is actually pretty happy that we are separated by a couple States and is questioning whether or not she wants to move in with me again next year…o boy just imagine me at graduation next Spring!
Speaking of Graduation, it was my Beautiful Sister’s Commencement at the University of Michigan this past weekend. We will call her Kat. I love her so much and it was so awesome to have the Fam in Michigan!! My family in all the 4 years that my sister has been at U of M (and 3 years for me) has never been up to see it!
They arrived the night before graduation and Kat was off celebrating like there’s no tomorrow umm “sleeping like a good girl to rest up before the next morning’s ceremony” so while she downed some err brewsky’s with her fellow graduates “Nyquil and called it an early night”, we hit Kai Garden for some din din
No pictures of this amazing dinner but we ordered a bunch of dishes and ate it family style. I basically hogged the same dish I ordered from here the last time us Bellas came for a visit: Eggplant in Garlic Sauce DELISH!
The main difference with us visiting this time was that the waiters and owners talked to us in Chinese! Way cool since last time I came they just assumed I was Americanized and didn’t speak it.
Then I joined my parents at the hotel instead of returning to my apartment since all my stuff was already in storage, and hit the sack.
Morning wake up call was at 530 AM. Because Michigan weather is so unpredictable, of course it was storming on our drive there. I pulled some leggings under my dress and put on my northface all the time praying for it to stop.
We arrived drenched, and soaked to the stadium at 8:30 AM (we stopped off for some Bfast). The ceremony by the way didn’t start till 11AM but we had to get good seats! I slept in the rain and texted my sister to pass time.
Can you find her?
Finally the ceremony started and the sun was peaking out! And guess who our guest speaker was?
President OBAMA! I was too far away to get an actual closeup so heres a pic of him on the big screen. Pretty cool huh?
Here I am with the Graduate:
We then hit the hotel again for a midday Siesta and woke up to go for Din. We went to Asia City, a Chinese Buffet.
I proceeded to grab every vegan dish and plop it on my plate. Delish!
Plate 1: Seaweed Salad, Sauteed String Beans, Broccoli in Garlic Sauce, Sauteed Veggies in White Sauce, white rice
Plate 2: Salad with Lettuce, Beets, Mandarin Oranges, Longaan, Raisins, Celery, Carrots, Lemon Wedges
And an unpictured mountain of Cantaloupe X 1000. My family and I had a debate on which was better Honey Dew or Cantaloupe. I was all for the Cantaloupe 100% as was my Dad but everyone else voted for Honey Dew!
My family also raved about their Sushi and Raw Oysters too! All you can eat sushi for $12.99 a person?! Great Deal!
I got my sister a pair of Tiffany’s Pearl Earrings for both her graduation and for getting into Pharmacy Grad School!! Im so proud of her!!
I flew back with the rest of the Fam back to NY the next morning, while Kat stayed behind to hang out with her friends before they all parted ways.
It’s good to be back home. Things were getting stressful at school but now its also time to get a job, study for GRE’s, take the GREs, and plan out my summer. So far its been nothing but bumming it on the bed, countless TV, reading blogs and texting Christina on moving to NY updates.
The BB’s will still be updating regularly though throughout the summer and we hope to be reunited soon!
Bella Love,
Lena
Do you live close to your Best Friends or far away? Do you find it hard to stay in touch?
I’m pretty sure my constant texting to Bella Christina will one day drive her up the wall
Are you a Honey Dew or Cantaloupe Fan?
I need more people on my Cantaloupe side!!
If you could have any guest speaker at your graduation who would it be??
I think Ellen DeGeneres would be amazing! She’s so hilarious and so full of spunk!
