Hola mis amigos!
I’m one half of the personality on this blog. I’m a junior english major & linguistics minor. I’ve been writing stories since I could hold a pencil right (yeah, that was a challenge) and haven’t looked back. Growing up half greek meant greek school for me on Saturdays, just like my big fat greek wedding. So yes greek school is real and it was honestly magical. I don’t remember much, but I learned that languages fascinate me. I’m in my fifth semester of spanish at school, y me gusta mucho.
Hmmm about food… well I grew up very very skinny and tall, and was always made fun of. Boohoo! I ate tons of ice cream and sugar, and still nothin’…until college. My metabolism caught up with me and now I look normal. With a little bit of weight gain I started to be aware that yes, my body now reacts to fats/sugars, but I wanted to feed it right and keep it healthy.
My lovely boyfriend, Ryan, introduced me to vegetarianism. I’d wanted to try it, but he was the push (and the provider of The China Study) that I needed. My choices are fully accepted by my family, and I’m so grateful. I’m pretty much a vegan, but at times I’ll have feta — I blame it on being greek.
This little bloggie project has been really fun so far
It’s brought Lena and I closer as friends, and definitely introduced me to a whole world of incredible blogging people that open my eyes to wholesome foods and lifestyles. Thank you all!
Welcome to the blogging world, its so much fun and everyone is so wonderful!! I wish we could all just meet up and play!! hehe..
Take care,
Jessica
ps. I don’t blame you on the feta, that is one of the only dairy things I miss like crazy!
Love the blog. Love feta. Ask you mother about where Lou told us to get the best skordalia. eat in and carry out. The older I get the more vegetarian I become, so I guess we won’t be having barbecue at graduation.
